I kept coming across articles or websites and thinking "I'll come back to that later" - but never actually doing so! I need to whittle down the huge backlog of sources and find the most useful and relevant information. This will give me the opportunity to be more critical and really hone in on what's important. Plus, it's all well and good doing research but it doesn't count for anything if the information just sits there in a pile.
A big part of the issue is with most of it just being on a screen. It find it hard to keep track unless I write it down in front of me in a way that is easier for me to organise. That way I can visualise the information better.
Action plan:
- Go through a load of the bookmarks and find the most important and relevant information
- Make notes & copy down quotes
- Remember to reference now instead of later
I'm not happy with my essay so far, so hopefully pushing the research element far further will result in a stronger, better informed piece of writing
